These Shoes in My Size Please

(Images via Louis Vuitton)

You cannot begin to understand the hunt I have been on for a photo of these shoes since I saw them on the Fall/Winter 2010/11 runway.
There were plenty of pictures floating around, but not of the exact colour combination I was dreaming of.

So it's with great excitement that I finally get to introduce you to the new love of my life: The Louis Vuitton Beauty Pump.
There is not one thing I don't truly adore about these shoes - The rich black velvet with a satin grey bow are perfect in contrast, the thick retro heel... I sense the beginning of a new trend in heel size. But my favourite part (and I'm sure this comes as no shock) is the Swarovski strass encrusted heel - love, love, L O V E.

And whilst I'm holding a vision of these shoes in my closet, I might just envisage this colour combination in there as well....

A Cool City Wedding...

...how cool does this wedding look?  I love this photo of the bride and groom walking the London streets.

Peaking Through The Fence...

(By Stephen Oxenbury via Dwell)
I have walked pasted this house many, many times and on every single one of them, I have stopped in front for a good 5 minutes, trying to take a peek inside. So imagine how excited I was to see these shots on Dwell.  Then to top it off I learn the house belongs to the designer Lisa Gorman and her husband. Sigh, life envy has well and truly kicked in.

L, after yesterday I can't help but think that maybe this is us in an alternate life....
Happy, stack wedges and fancy free.

An Oldie But Still So Good...

...I've had this picture saved in my inspiration folder since it was first posted by Black*Eiffel back in 08 and to this day it would have to be one of the strongest images in there. I adore this shade designed by Elina Aalto. I'm not sure how but one day I need to own it.

Have A Fab Week My Lovelies...

(via Country Living)

My pic of the week may seem a little strange seeing as it's only July, but I had a wonderful Christmas in July dinner on the weekend, complete with a very delicious pork roast and pumpkin pie! Yum yum.

I hope you all have a fab week and for those in Melbourne, maybe catch a film or two at the film festival. Much Love xx

Truth Massacre...

(Truth art by alshepmcr via flickr)

As readers of this blog will know, Edie has a way with words.  But she out did herself last week when she coined the term 'Truth Massacre'.  If you really stop and think about it, it's bloody brilliant!  So I've taken this phrase on in the last couple of days and have executed some truth massacres of my own.   Boy is it liberating. But I do warn  you, it can be a little scary, because as we all know, sometimes the truth can highlight some painful things...

What I Love About Fashion

(Images via Noir Facade)

There are many things I love about fashion, but the thing that ignites the most passion in me is the fantasy.
The idea of clothes, shoes and accessories coming together to form an image or a style that seems out of this world and in some cases unattainable, is like a wonderfully addictive dream that sits just out of reach. The fact that there's many elements you might never be able to access make it all the more desirable, for there's nothing more attractive than something that's not quite yours.

Take these pictures for example, never in a million years would I A.) be able to afford these clothes or B.) even be able to pull them off. I understand that there's a lot going on there, what with the opulent brocade coats, plush fur and bold animal prints, but the point is: doesn't it make you want to live in a world where these kinds of fashions are the norm? Just for a second?
It's escapism, pure and simple, but I have to say, doesn't everyone need a little fantasy once in a while.

Oh The Glamour

(Images via Fashion Gone Rogue)

Sometimes I feel like my heart belongs in Paris.
Granted I've never been there (yet), but whenever I see or read about this fantastical city I can't help but wonder whether maybe it's an undiscovered second home.
Call me crazy, but after devouring the June/July edition of Paris Vogue and by devouring I mean the pictures only, I considered for a serious second taking french lessons just so that one day I could actually read it.

This editorial shot by Aldona Karczmarczyk featuring Iza Olak has three main elements that make me nothing short of happy: Beautiful Parisian scenery, insanely glamorous fashions and shoes only by Christian Louboutin. It really doesn't get much better than that.

This, Is A Role Model

(Images via Noir Facade)

Dakota Fanning, what a beautiful young lady you've become.
Young impressionable girls take note; THIS is a role model. Hard work, dedication, solid grounding and pure intention are just a few characteristics worth admiring in a public figure.
Wild partying, criminal records, jail time and drug possession however, are nothing to be emulated nor admired. This kind of behaviour is not. ok.

When Simple Is Perfect...

(via Once Wed)

...I cannot contain my love for this wedding, or should I say elopement. So simple, so pretty, so happy. Looking at this, how can you not love weddings!

Come Back!

(Images via Noir Facade)

How amazing is Gemma Ward!
Just looking at the pictures from this editorial shot by Craig McDean in UK Vogue (2005), has me wishing for her comeback.
Loving the broke-down doll vibe of the shoot, it's genius. Gemma Ward makes it genius.

You've Left Me Speechless...

(Images via Noir Facade)

I'm so in love with this editorial I don't really know what to say. I mean....it's literally my favourite, EVER.
You will have to bare with me whilst I try to wrap my blogging around some not so cleverly crafted words, that I'm quite sure will fail to express how much I truly love these photos.
Ok, Abbey Lee Kershaw: beyond beautiful. The styling: boho rock insane genius. Her boyfriend Matthew Hutchinson: perfect couple. Magazine: Vogue (duh) Deutsch. Photographer Alexi Lubomirski: magic.

I'll say it again; most. favourite. editorial. ever.

House Porn...

...so I am starting to realise that my love for looking at houses could be starting to reach all time dangerous levels.  Maybe some researcher out there needs to do a study on people like me and what it does to the brain. But until there is a 12 step program for me, I'll drool over amazing places like this one seen on Re-Nest.

Hart Styling

(Image via Celebrity Thread)

I couldn't resist posting this photo of Jessica Hart for several reasons: 1. Every single thing about her outfit is cool perfection, 2. She is amazingly beautiful and 3. If for no other reason than she's an Australian and a Melbourne girl at that.
Knowing my style and the limitations that come with that, this is an outfit I could never pull off- edgy/cool just looks false on me- but whenever I see an outfit of this nature I can't help but occasionally dream of creating an eclectic, casual, carefree fashion moment like this.
Jessica's style is to be admired, it's authentic, original, self assured and so uniquely her. For more inspiring   fashion moments you can visit her fantastic blog: Jessica.Hart/Blog

One Love, You've Done It Again...

A Givenchy Favourite

(Image via Fashion Gone Rogue)

I am in absolute awe of this Givenchy Fall Haute Couture dress.
Instead of a runway show this year, Riccardo Tisci created 10 pieces to show in an intimate presentation with the intention of accentuating all that is special about Haute Couture, above and beyond 'just another catwalk.'
In my opinion, the detail and beading on this gown is exactly what Haute Couture garments are all about. My favourite part: the ruffles cascading down from mid thigh and fanning out into a pool of liquid gold at the hem - magical.
I'm quite certain that if I ever had the immense pleasure to wear a gown of this calibre, I might just be the happiest girl in the world.

Have A Fab Week My Lovelies...

How adorable is this photo!  Lets take some inspiration from it for the week ahead and make this week one where you hang out with your friends, do something creative and sneak a kiss from the one you love.  Much Love xx

These Shoes in My Size Please

(Image via Net-A-Porter)

I am in all kinds of love with these Oscar de la Renta boots.
The laser cut lace detail is out. of. this. world.
Of all the shoe types, boots are one of those that I find myself least inspired by. I want to like them, don't get me wrong, it's just that they seem to be a more understated shoe, which- for someone a little in love with everything high glamour- can appear a little boring.
And then Oscar de la Renta comes along with lace trimmed, grey suede knee-high boots and I'm swept off my feet.
Perhaps there is something to be said for a beautiful boot after all.
