What Would I Do If...

...I won the lotto? I would buy this magical place and restore it to the beauty it should be.

I walk past this every morning, smelling the heavenly scent that seems to come from the unkept garden which reminds me of my childhood.  I hope someone will be kind to this place one day.

What Weddings Are About...

(image via Once Wed)
I think this photo says it all...LOVE & LAUGHTER

These Shoes In My Size Please

(Images via Net-A-Porter)

It appears  that this week, great minds think alike: Lucia, I adore that you would consider these to die for pumps as a shoe option for your hypothetical wedding - loves.

Is it really any wonder though, alongside your fellow staples the black pump, a good boot (flat and heeled), a cute pair of ballet flats and something of the nude variety...there's the glitter encrusted/crystal option.
For any girl serious about her shoe collection, these Lady Claude pumps (if you're lucky) or a variation of, are quite simply a must.

You Have My Heart

(Image via Cool Chaser)

I know your not allowed to say it, but your mixed tape tells me you love me....
and that's enough.

Round One Goes to Edie...

Edie, I have failed already in this first round of our new game!  I have spent a ridiculously long time trying to work out which accessories should go with this dress...
...and frankly I cannot take the pressure anymore.  This is exactly what happened to me when I was trying to style my own wedding.  What I want to go with this dress is a flower wrist corsage, better shoes than the ones the model has on, some amazing chunky earrings.
Maybe these Christian Lounoutin's
 or in this colour

And maybe this headband??

Help Edie Help!!!

A Whole Other Level Of Desire

(Image via Fashionologie)
Oh. My.
I feel like this Christian Dior Origami dress represents everything that I'm about: layer upon layer of embroidered silk and tulle...it's obscene glamour at its best.
I need me a moment in life where it's appropriate that I wear this dress. John Galliano and his insane genius created this dress for his 2007 Spring Haute Couture show in Paris. Yes, I understand it's an oldie, but I mean really, there will not come a day when I don't pine over this dress. To D.I.E.

Wishing you a highly glamorous Thursday x

Lets Play Us A Game....

Whilst cleaning out my overflowing inbox (117 emails to be exact), I stumbled across a delightful piece of news: the dangerously fabulous Net-A-Porter has just recently launched their Bridal Boutique.
Confession: I'm not really a wedding kind of gal, that's Lucia's love, but feeling the influence from my beautiful partner in blog, I decided to check it out: W.O.W is all I will say.

So then I got to thinking, lets play us a game! And by us Lucia, I mean you and I.
Here we go: If I was getting married right now and had to purchase my entire 'look' from the Net-A-Porter Bridal Boutique, this is the kind of amazingness I would marry my love in:

Dress & Bag: Lanvin, Shoes: Jimmy Choo, Earrings: Kenneth Jay Lane, Bracelet: Alex Monroe.

Lucia my dear, your turn!

Simple Style...

I would love to be able to put an outfit together like this. Simple, elegant and yet still a little edgy with the use of the chunky necklace.  And of course let's not forget the hair....s.i.g.h.

Elle Style Awards

(Image via Red Carpet Fashion)

It's ironic really that at an event like the UK Elle Style Awards I only managed to get really excited about one dress- and even then, it's a shame that it's a dress I've been excited about before.
However, credit where credits due; Rosie Huntington-Whiteley looks immaculate! This Christian Dior Spring 2010 dress is beyond beautiful, with the sheer top and black bra (who'd have thought that would work?!), teamed with a belt and slimline skirt. Not to mention that sexy shade of red. Simply put, I adore.

No BAFTA Love...

So so disappointed with the fashion at this years BAFTA's. So much so that I don't even want to post a best and worst of.  Just plain BLAH. Instead let me share with you a still from the film 500 Days of Summer. I haven't actually seen the film but I LOVE this shot -  the paper lanterns, the lights, the soft colouring of the skyline (OK so that may be fog but hey, it sure does look romantic!), the body language...s.i.g.h.

Have A Fab Week My Lovelies

(Photo by Gihan Tubbeh via The Age)

This photo took first prize in the Daily Life Stories category of World Press Photo 2009. It sums up how the week was for me - good in some parts, and spectacularly bad in others.   While it breaks my heart just a bit as it shows Adrian, a 13-year old autistic boy, it does more happily, reinvigorate my love for photography. I think this year may be the year of the photo for me.  Maybe one day I will not be too scared to post one of my own...
Much Love xx

All Laced Up

Diane Kruger - Paris Vogue, October 2009

The styling on this shoot is insanity! So so sexy and it goes without saying that Diane looks out of this world superb. For me, it's all about the lace.
This only serves to exacerbate my style crush on her. Love, love, love.

May the success of The September Issue and Valentino The Last Emperor bring on a new trend of movie - the Fashion Documentary. Quite seriously, there's nothing more fascinating.

Terrarium Love...

I've been seeing a lot of these terrariums around lately and am tempted to make one of my own.  BUT as a person who has killed 3 cacti, do I have the skill to do it?  Time will tell. I'll keep you posted.

Wedding Love...

(Photos via Erin Hearts Court)
I can't get enough of this wedding! After having one of those days where staying in bed would have been a much better option -  I really needed a pick me up.  This wedding really hit the spot.

Edie - this one's also for you...do you d.i.e for those shoes?

For The Love Of...

Posted by Picasa
(Images via Google Images)
....The Ballet.
To me, there is nothing more graceful and inspirational than the ballet. The dancers, the costumes, the tradition, the culture. I always leave a performance inspired...wishing/hoping/wanting to have that kind of skill, grace, dedication and discipline....that perhaps I could be that brilliant at something.
This, I suspect, fuels my small obsession with tulle and tutu inspired fashion. For me, always a fail safe: is the dress made from or does it incorporate Tulle? Yes. Then for sure, it has my heart.

Just between you and I; if I was granted a wish to be anything that my heart desired, I would be a Principal Dancer for the New York City Ballet. A girl can dream....

In Awe Of...

...Lucy Feagins of The Design Files.  Not only does she write one of the most charming, informative and current blogs around, she seems to do it all while holding down a very cool job.

(Photo via Daily Imprint)

But since reading this fantastic profile on the Inside Out blog I've been wondering whether this kind of 'get up and go' is within us all, or just the truly talented? Is there a couch to action ratio that will predict whether you will actually do something with your life?

Have A Fab Week My Lovelies

(I wanted you to know... Lightbox by munstre)

This week I'm sure we will all be inundated with Valentine's Day propaganda. I am always amused by this as I don't understand why your love for someone should be celebrated once a year.   So this week don't forget to let the people you love (and this includes friends and family) know that they are special.  Much Love xx

Time To Bring Back...

US Vogue - September 1991

The Supermodels of the 90's. By whom I mean the BIG six: Christy, Claudia, Cindy, Kate, Naomi and Linda.
Whilst there have been many other girls who have been given Supermodel status, to me these six divinely perfect women will always be the original Supermodels.
In fact, it is often said that they are the only six models officially recognised as Supermodels by the Fashion industry.

After watching Catwalk on DVD this afternoon, I am left lusting after a time where models were the ultimate celebrity. When the same girls graced every cover, campaign and catwalk....back when Supermodels were rare and mythical, not like now where celebrities reign supreme and models seem not only mass produced, but almost obsolete.

Take me back to the fashion world in the 90's - I promise I'll pay attention this time.

I Love This City...

Bella Roma...

I recently saw the new film Nine. I can't tell you how disappointed I was. I thought I would walk away with visions of amazing actresses draped in fabulous clothes, but that wasn't to be. Instead I found myself remembering my time in Rome and longing to return. I wonder, do other first generation Australians feel this pull towards a country they hardly know?

Kind Of Obsessed

Christian Dior Spring 2010 Collection

(Images via Coutorture)
I'm totally lusting after everything Christian Dior right now. In fact, I feel like I need a new word for divine, because Dior's Spring 2010 colelction was on a whole other level - John Galliano is a genius!
The top eight images are my absolute 'to D.I.E' for looks from the collection, but that's not to say that I couldn't literally find an excuse to wear every piece straight off the runway.
Crazy in Love.
