These Shoes In My Size Please

(Images via fashionjunkii)

Whilst not entirely a new shoe vision (Valentino, Paris Spring/Summer 2010), after a tough week full of a little less joy than normal, I felt the need to break out with something that is so utterly me and so obscenely glamorous it could only help to lift my funk.

These heels are so unashamedly high glam, representing femininity via the lace and incorporating the tiniest bit of 'edge' via the black. They are literally like the sexiest of lingerie for feet. But then what else would you expect from a collaboration with one of the worlds most famous Miliners, Philip Treacy and Valentino?

If you're lucky enough to be able to wear a pair of these magnificent heels, the outfit must be discreet because it will be about nothing but the shoes!

Melbourne Artist Love...

(Work by Luci Everett)

I am slowly falling in love with the work of Melbourne artist Luci Everett.  Magical.  I imagine a day when I wake up in my airy and light bedroom and the first thing I see is one of these. Now that would put spring in my step.

So Simple, So Chic

There is nothing outrageous about this outfit but I am still very much drawn to it. To me it screams Melbourne and I could easily picture this girl casually walking Flinders Lane.

Awestruck

These images from what is speculated to be Christian Louboutin's first ever ad campaign, are beyond sensational.
Taking reference from the quirkiness of Alice in Wonderland to magical effect, I can't help but wonder how weird it would be if I had the whole series framed and hung in my apartment. Too much? Oh well, I'll settle for blogging about them for now.

Oh and for the record, I'll take the booties in the first picture in my size please. Love me the sparkle.

So, I've Changed My Mind

(Image via Coco Birkin)

Whilst I thought that I loved the Black Croc Birkin in my previous post, I love, love, L.O.V.E the colour of this deep Cherry Red Croc Birkin.

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to have two....right?

I Know I Promised...

...but come on, how could I resist not posting about this dinning room.  I'm really drawn to the industrial but yet very soft room.  There is nothing really complicated about this space which is another reason to love it.

Oh Edie You Have Made Me So Happy...

Bringing Home The Birkin

(Image via The Purse Blog)

Whilst reading Michael Tonello's Bringing Home The Birkin (a fascinating read and absolute must for anyone who loves fashion, Hermes, Travel, Bags, Spain...you get my point), I was reminded of my all time holy grail bag: the Hermes Birkin.

Whilst I know that it's a more mature style, with a more mature price point ($148,000 for this diamond encrusted Croc Porosus Lisse), I can't help but dream that one day when I'm all grown up, I will own this bag.

Well...maybe not the diamond encrusted design, just the 35cm in black Croc will do.

Why I Love Melbourne So Much..

...Hidden Pizza Restaurant. Designed by Joost. Enough Said.

A wall of basil
Recycled material and a wood fire oven

From their website..."the Hidden Pizza Restaurant is one of the newest editions to the Melbourne food scene. All our pizzas are cooked in a wood fire oven using mostly local ingredients and from April 12 – April 25 we’re offering a free pizza to everyone who finds us...at the Hidden Pizza Restaurant, we wanted to show that businesses can use clever environmentally friendly design to operate a business. With the design expertise of Joost Bakker, we created an interior that was largely made out of recycled materials.

It does make me a little annoyed that it was so close to my work and I only just read about it the day it closes. Doh!

Understanding Lucia

(Image via Genius Beauty)

It was Thursday afternoon and in need of a small interlude from the stress of our jobs, Lucia and I took some time out (or a procrastination break, depending on how you look at it) to swan through some of her favourite wedding blogs and websites. Our main focus, the dresses.

Admittedly I have never been that girl who dreams of a big, elaborate wedding - too much pressure and quite frankly I doubt that I would survive it - but I'm not going to lie, after looking at beautiful gown after beautiful gown (many of them incorporating tulle - die.), I find myself warming to the idea of a more elaborate wedding. Well actually, perhaps not the wedding, but at least a more elaborate dress. Furthermore, I could even see myself in this divinely perfect Valentino Fall 2009 gown.

All that aside, I have to say the best part of our Thursday afternoon viewing, is that I'm truly beginning to understand Lucia's undying love and borderline obsession with weddings; they just sweep you away.

Lucia, I get it.

Have A Fab Week My Lovelies...

(Photos by Chris Court via Donna Day)

MasterChef began this week and I am already addicted. So after a difficult weekend where I was confronted with the harsh reality of my finances, I am so grateful that I can come home, enjoy the simple, fresh flavours of a homemade pizza, and then watch one of the few programs on TV that manages to teach me something about food each episode.
Enjoy your week my lovelies. xx

Hair Envy

In my wildest dreams I have hair like Brigitte Bardot's in this photo. So effortlessly sexy - the fringe, colour, length and tousled styling combine to create a look that says: "I do nothing with my hair and yes, I'm just naturally this fabulous."
What's most impressive to me, is that this photo was taken in 1964, yet the hairstyle is something so completely relevant to today.

These Shoes In My Size Please

(Image via mytheresa.com)

I am so in love with these Fendi suede and tulle sandals. They are literally amazingness personified.
The tulle embellishment had me at hello (obviously), but I think it's the soft, powdery taupe suede that really has me obsessing.
I'm not really a fan of beige, so this to me, is the ultimate neutral.

What A Great Idea...

I once got a gift of a lovely long clear vase, much like the one in the photo above, and for a long time was puzzled as to what to do with it. Until that is, I came across this. What a great and simple way to use a vase like this.

Photo Love...

...I've always been draw to composites in photography and this Polaroid one by  Patrick Winfield is really stunning.  This is the kind of artwork that I would live to own and have in my home.

Typical Me...

(All pics by Frank Features)

...as soon as I start to look at real estate to buy, I get addicted to websites like this AMAZING one by Frank Features, a South African-based editorial content agency that specialises in lifestyle, home and travel-related features. Seriously I could have posted all of the photos from the site. Not only is the photography pretty special, but come on, just look at these houses!

I suppose one has to have something to aspire to, and in my case it might just have to be these spectacular houses and real estate that I will never be able to afford.

Why I Love Weddings...

...look at the joy in these photos. The bride and groom look so happy, even the bridesmaids and celebrant have massive grins on their faces. How can yo not love a day that lets you celebrate love, lets you dance till it hurts and get frocked up in your Sunday best?

More photos from this rocking wedding. I love city weddings, especially ones in New York.

Still Got It

(Images via SQUA.RE)

This to me is just one of the reasons why the Supermodels of the 90's are making their comeback. Or, one might argue that they never really went away.

Either way, the fact that we've recently seen Elle strut the catwalk for Louis Vuitton (closing the show nonetheless), the announcement that Lara Stone has been replaced as the face of Louis Vuitton by Christy Turlington (Die!) and here we have Claudia Shiffer looking beyond beautiful, shot for German Vogue by Karl Lagerfeld.
For me, it doesn't get better than this - I feel like we have some fashionably amazing times ahead of us.

Can Someone I Know...

...that has kids please please please get a teepee like the one above? How awesome would it be. I would happily babysit if I could have a play in that room.

The Allure of Shoes

(Image via This is Glamorous)

Have you ever been getting dressed and you're having one of those horrible days where you feel fat and ugly and absolutely nothing looks right?
Well, let me say: I've been known to experience some fairly heinous moments like this - to what feels like at the time - some what epic proportions. The key to survival? High heels!
Excluding of course kitten heels...don't even start me on those.

You see, here's the thing: Shoes will always fit no matter how bloated you feel. Will never make you look fat, as they only serve to elongate your legs and whether you're feeling it or not, they straighten your posture and put a strut in your walk that's impossible to achieve flat footed. And most importantly, they're an incredibly effective way to be a little more daring with your style and a baby step towards experimenting with a potential new you.

I ask you this, could you imagine the achingly divine shoes above making you feel anything less than fabulous? ....Didn't think so.

Absolutely head over heels in love with this photo.
So fresh, so cute.
That is all.

And These In Mine Please...

Adorable! I would love to see a picture of them from the front, but non the less I can still imagine them paired with a fabulous frock from RM by Roland Mouret or Victoria Beckham.  Edie are you proud?
