Lucia's Style Challenge - Golden Globe's
The Dress - Toni Maticevski
Shoes - Christian Louboutin, Cosmo Python Pumps (Net-A-Porter)
Clutch - Christian Louboutin, Mini Loubi (Net-A-Porter)
Cuff - Yves Saint Laurent (YSL)
This challenge proved a lot harder than I initially thought. So many options to scout out and chose from, not to mention the fact that I can't physically see them all on an actual person, but none the less, here we have it:
The Golden Globes is often the most casual and fun of the awards ceremonies, a chance for attendees to flirt with a more youthful and relaxed type of style, which is exactly why Lucia's Toni Maticevski dress is perfection. I feel like the more I look at this dress the more I fall in love with it.
Unfortunately my first pick shoes for this look are being held ransom by Barney's New York. As they're brand brand new Louboutin's, I found it incredibly difficult to find a picture of them on the net that I could borrow for use of this post. So instead I opted for the just as fabulous Louboutin Cosmo Pumps in a gold/pewter python. If you're interested, my first pick shoes can be found here: Barney's.
There's many things I adore about this Mini Loubi clutch, the delicate antique lace, the colour combination of the gold hardware and the creme, so so pure and fresh, but most of all who can resist the diamante encrusted heel clasp - simple, but genius. It kind of sold me.
To me, due to the asymmetrical neckline and draping of the dress, it's really important that accessories are not in abundance or over the top. The dress is so beautiful and unique that it deserves a fashion moment where it can hold it's own. Which brings me to YSL's Arty Bangle made from Blue/Green Aventurine stones.
What I loved about this cuff is it's earthy quality and that the Blue/Green of the stones ties in with the fresh green/gold/creme vibe we were going for with this entire look. There's something about Lucia style that's slightly whimsical and eclectic in her approach. This cuff may not be something she would initially chose for herself, but I feel that tied together with this outfit she would Shut. It. Down.
A note on hair and make up: I actually liking the styling of the hair on the catwalk, even the gold accessory around the bun. Though I would have it a little less slicked back and severe, just the use of less product would be enough. Make up would be minimal and dewy, with a subtle bronze smokey eye.
Whilst challenging, this task has been a whole lot of fun and if I do say so myself; Lucia, this would be an 'out of the ball park' moment for you. Best dressed for sure. I hope you L.O.V.E.
Ok, so you may or may not remember that Lucia also set me two more style challenges for her Oscar's ceremony and after party looks. I haven't forgotten, it's just that the insane perfectionist in me needs to get it right. Stay tuned....

These Shoes In My Size Please
(Images via Net-A-Porter)
It's been bought to my attention that my taste in shoes centres around the one core theme - Girly high glam.
So my choice of the Balmain buckle boots last week, came as a bit of surprise to some.
Whilst I would love my life to be one big puff of tulle and glitter, sadly it's not always practical - which is why last week you were introduced to a darker shade of my shoe love.
This week, I like to think that these sexy Lanvin chain detail pumps, fall somewhere in between. Whilst technically quite a simple design, there's something so inexplicably sexy about them. Perhaps it's the way the chains drape down the slimmest part of the foot. OR, maybe it's just that I imagine myself wearing these divine shoes, swanning around the streets of Paris with a tall, dark handsome man.....
For the record: In my imagination, this tall handsome man looks a lot like Johnny Depp.

Kind Of Obsessed
- Photos by Max Abadian -
Every now and then I'm blessed to be able to attend a show or performance that inspires.
It's not just a case of being in awe of the talent and dedication, but more so that it ignites a feeling in you, that perhaps you're not as limited or trapped by your own fear and limitations as you might think.
There's a lot of mixed feelings out there about Lady Gaga, but no matter how bizarre the outfit or shock tactics employed, the message is clear: What other people think of you doesn't matter, just as long as you're being true to you and proud of it.
I admire her ability to stand up for who she is and to not pay heed to those who criticise or try to shut her down. She's unashamedly Gaga.
Imagine living your life without a care to what others think - Liberating.

An Education
It's always a proud moment in a daughters life when her gadget crazy father takes his first big step into her fashion world.
So you can imagine my delight and surprise when over dinner my not so fashion savvy father who has an endearing, but slightly strange penchant for bright yellow everything, asks me whether my new Louis Vuitton wallet is YSL. Followed up with: "I know what that is after reading your blog today."
Lucia, we thought that this blog would just be a fun place for us to vent our fashion adoration, but now I know that it's more than that, it's an educational experience as well. Bless.
The Joy In My Tuesday

I would literally wear every dress in the latest Atelier Versace collection - Love, love, love.
Whilst the design's remain modern and original, I feel like this particular collection has shades of an 80's Gianni Versace. THIS is amazingness at it's best.

Bedroom Love...
How stunning is this light display in Pia Bijkerk's Paris apartment. Granted I have a soft spot for bedrooms with no traditional bedheads or side-tables, but seriously, how romantic is this room?

File This Under Perfection...
My heart literally stopped when I saw this SJP look...So.In.Love.
It's been quite a while since I've been THIS excited about a red carpet moment; simply put, it's flawless. From the divine Marchesa dress, to the oh so fresh and beautiful hair and make up, SJP looks absolutely stunning.
Without an ounce of O.E (over exaggeration) there is nothing I don't adore about this look. Wow. Wow. Wow.
Fingers crossed this is a sign of things to come for the upcoming Sex and the City Movie press tour.

Today I Am Grateful
For many things I am grateful, but today I had a thought: My life would not be half as wonderful as it is without my girlfriends.
I feel that as we grow older, good quality friendships are few and far between. Which makes it all the more amazing when you meet a new friend who encourages a side of you that you've never been able to share before. Someone who probably does't understand their own fabulousness, but has made you a better you just by being in your life.
It's for this particular, fairly new friendship that I am most grateful for today. I hope you know who you are LD...x

I love, love, love these Balmain boots....
And whilst I go a little crazy with lust every time I look at them, it pains me to write this post. The fact that boots are now my shoe D.I.E of the week, means that they're season appropriate and that the cooler months are officially upon us. Buh-Bye Summer.
Silver lining: Helloooo Balmain Buckle Boots, scarves, gloves, coats and the glamour and style that is Melbourne Winter wear.

Dear Mr Galliano...
"I don't love dolls. I love women. I love their bodies."
In my wildest dreams I am your muse and you're my one true designer love. Your love and admiration for women and the female form is why you are in a league of your own.
Quite truly a genius, there's not a moment where you haven't left me breathless or squealing "I D.I.E" at the sight of your exquisite couture.
I pledge as your muse, that I will wear Christian Dior at every possible moment for the rest of my life.
"Dressing up. People just don't do it anymore. We have to change that."
John Galliano, you are my life, love and inspiration.

If I Could Be A Muse...
....I would want to be a muse for Alber Elbaz, designer for Lanvin. His clothes are elegant, cheeky, colourful, simple yet stunning. Plus he looks like he'd be a hoot to have at a dinner.
If I were his muse we would have breakfast at an achingly cool breakfast spot in Paris, we'd host awesome parties that would become the talk of the town, we'd go to to the movies, check out art and I do all these things wearing the most amazing outfits.
And the main reason I want to be his muse can be found in his answer to the question posed by journalist Harriet Mays Powell. When asked What kind of women do you design for? He replied
"I love personalities. I don’t like just pretty girls. The moment I see a woman, my task is to find the piece that, when I put it on her, I will not see the clothes but I see her face. I don’t want to see a dress with a woman. I just want to see a woman.
Over to you Edie, who would you want to be a muse for?

How Clever
While looking at unaffordable real estate, I came across this clever little idea that I think has huge potential. For small spaces why not put some plants in colourful crates? What a way to inject a splash of colour. Imagine this balcony once these plants are grown and with a gorgeous outdoor setting.

Kitchen Love...
...WOW! This kitchen was updated for US$500!! LOVE the bench tops, the globes and the simple use of paint to freshen up the space. I am even lusting after the dining table. And how cute is that table runner! Ah adorable.
I just noticed this kitchen is very similar to the one posted recently. One day I hope to post a picture of my own kitchen...one day.

Have A Fab Week My Lovelies...

Let's hope this week is a little more calmer than the last. I might have to think of this picture if I feel I'm turning into Looney Lucia again! Have a great week all xo
House Love....
...this morning I was reading the property results for the weekend and the usual disheartened feeling started to creep in. Then in my masochistic best I jumped online and checked out apartment therapy, where I saw one of the best lofts I've seen in ages. What I love about it is that it is not absurdly large, yes its spacious but each room has a purpose and use and it has the feeling of spaciousness and cosines. Love.
