I'm not usually a person who likes a lot of bold colour, but WOW wow WoW, I am so drawn to this editorial for Vogue Italia, November 2005 (shot by Michaelangelo di Battista). The make up is out of this world, SO genius!

Not to mention Jessica Stam looks absolutely gorgeous, totally owning this look. It's the mark of a strong face and personality not to be overwhelmed by such colour saturation.

I've become a little obsessed with watching Model specials on FTV of late - I find it mesmerising. These are women who are so incredibly beautiful, each in their own unique way that it's almost hypnotic to watch.

It's very important to me that I'm surrounded by beauty, whether it be clothes, friends, family, what I watch/read, my home - I just want life to be beautiful, not necessarily just materialistically, but from a soul aspect as well.

I also really enjoy the snippets of backstage interviews. So often now we see models faces in all the publications and blogs we read, but very rarely do they have a voice. Which is a shame really, because they've got some pretty inspiring things to say.

On a side note, I feel that this shoot embodies all that I love about a Paris and all that I wish I was.

If I had hair this perfect; long, thick, voluminous- I swear I would wear it styled like this everyday.

Lucia doubts the reality of me actually doing this and whilst I admit that it''s a little over the top for everyday wear, I feel it would be a crying shame not to.

Of course, having said this - my imaginary alter ego is much more outrageous than I...so perhaps Lucia's half right: Edie wouldn't wear her hair like this everyday, but my ego most certainly would!

Just When You Thought....

...I couldn't be anymore obsessed with Christian Louboutin, I stumbled across this video filmed for Net-A-Porter. 

Now I love and adore him even more!

My heart literally skipped a beat when he picked up the pumps with the pink bow and feather detail and I saw the shoes on the shelf in the background - Heaven. Oh my, what I would do to spend a day in his workshop and archive.

I Have Had A Dangerous Revelation...

I was a bit down last Saturday as I was convinced I would be a new home owner (now there is a long and boring story), so to drown my sorrows I went shopping.  Boy oh boy did that work. I came home with a gorgeous new coat. Then to top it off an awesome friend found these Tony Bianco shoes for me. What a great way to end a frustrating day.Shopping may just be my new friend...

I'm so very much in lust with this mini Leopard print Lanvin bag from Net-A-Porter.

My clothes are generally pretty conservative and though I hate to admit, black.....lots of black! A lot of that is probably a fear of colour and insecurities surrounding my perceived lack of ability to pull off a more outrageous look. 

However. When it comes to shoes and bags, animal prints and bold colour are wonderful and more than make up for my lack of adventure with clothing- it's my way of compromise. To me, shoes and bags are the centre of an outfit - the bolder the better.

So imagine this, a sleek slimline pair of black pants, a floaty black silk blouse, the highest of high Pigalle patent Louboutins, layered gold necklaces and this superb Lanvin bag slung gracefully over my shoulder. 

For now I'm sure you can see how the bag can make the outfit.

These Shoes in My Size Please

Looking back over my previous shoe posts, it's become apparent that I'm suffering from a little bit of seasonal denial. Have you noticed that the majority of my posts focus on sandals or spring/summer appropriate  heels? Don't get me wrong, I do love a good boot or bootie.....

...But then I saw these super sexy Dsquared Swarovski crystal sandals and I decided that the winter shoes can wait until next week. 

The combination of the red, black and gold has me already imagining them on my feet (in the summer of course.) What captured my heart the most though, is the unique design and placement of the straps around the ankles and the red crystals leading down to the heel of the shoe - literally like nothing I have seen before. There's an undeniable W.O.W factor. So may-jor.

It seems that the pressure is on next week for a brilliant boot post.

...but I have ALWAYS wanted to look like the girl in this photo. I don't have this body shape and after years of neglecting my health I will never even get close, so every time I see a girl like this in a photo, down the street or at work, I regret some of the choices I've made.  Friends, learn from my mistake and be kind to yourself and to your body.

Just found out my godchild will be born next week!  I'm crazy excited. Can't wait to meet it. Can't wait to stop calling it an it! I hope you and mum get through next week well. xo
