One For The Collection
As Lucia so eloquently stated the other day, it appears to be raining Tom Ford at the moment!
Another addition to my ever expanding obsession is the holiday issue of French Vogue, guest edited by Mr Ford himself. L.O.V.E.
Have A Fab Week My Lovelies...
...actually let me put it a more metal way - 'Have a ****** awesome mother**** week...'
Here's just a few reasons why this post is dedicated to our friends Metallica...
1. Lars Ulrich is so legendarily arrogant that you just have to love him for it
2. They rocked Rod Laver Arena like it was 1990
3. There was a sea of black t-shirts and tattoos
4. Metal Boys love them
5. Pyrotechnics on a Saturday night equals one hell of a night
Enjoy your week all x

Mr Ford Returns
It's allllllll about Tom Ford for me at the moment - I. Love. Him.
You know the kind of fashion crush where you want to own a piece of everything that they do; clothes, fragrance, lipstick, book, accessories - it's fair to say that Tom Ford is my current hobby.
Naturally, I couldn't stop myself from sharing with you the first photos of his yet to be released women's collection from December US Vogue.
Just so we're clear, the look in the first picture has me written all over it!!

These Shoes in My Size Please
Hands up if you find these strappy Pierre Hardy sandals irresistibly sexy!
I had picked these shoes out for my post at the start of the week, so it's ironic really that Lucia and I had a very serious discussion about ankle straps at lunch today that went something like this:
She loves them, I love them, but they're a style that must be handled with care. Are they a privilege reserved for those with mile long, slender legs? Are there some legs where ankle straps may not be the most flattering shoe moment, but to some extent can still get away with it? OR is it a simple fact of life that no matter what shape or length your legs are, an ankle strap will never be your most flattering option? Perhaps it's just the nature of the beast.
Having pondered this at great length without really arriving at a firm conclusion I will say this, legs like Giselle or legs all my own, NOTHING- not even the ankle strap- would stop me from rocking these show stopping sandals.
I mean really, with heels like these on, no one is going to be looking at your legs anyway.

This Site Is Awesome, But Maybe Too Awesome...
...I spent a very long time looking at every single image on Frontliners yesterday and WOW! I want more. I love having a peek inside other people's lives and find it especially fascinating learning about creative people.
I am going to leave it to the ladies of the site to eplain it much better than I ever could...
It’s not all perfect poses and freshly laundered sheets on the family frontline. But sometimes it is. Frontliners documents families as varied as the people we meet. It is the work of photographer Kata Varga and writer Natalie Walton
But you know how you feel sick if you have too much chocolate, even though you love it and really wanted it? I may have binged on Frontliners...but I'm sure I'll go back!

A Love To Look Forward To
After watching Ellen interview Portia de Rossi about her new book during the week, I've fallen a little bit in love with the kind of love they share.
Most girls dream of finding their perfect partner, a guy who's honest, kind, honourable, cool, funny, charming, good looking, supportive....loves you for all that you are and all that you're not.
AND THEN, you dream of the relationship you have together; loving, passionate, inspiring, entertaining, safe, secure, supportive, genuine....you know, the kind that makes you feel like who you are is perfectly imperfect and that that's ok.
Watching Ellen and Portia together and hearing their stories, you can't help but see that this is the kind of divine, honest love that they share - so deserving and so perfect for each other.
Cynics will say that 'true love' is something fabricated by Hollywood and that it doesn't really exist. Sure, relationships are hard work, we know that, but that doesn't mean true love can't exist within that.
Gay, straight, whatever your sexual orientation may be, its so reassuring to see this kind of love in the world - for if it exists for others, then it exists for me too.
On a fashion note: Portia's Zac Posen gown is the definition of romantic. Most definitely a dress made from and for love.
And of course, it goes without saying that this dress belongs in my wardrobe waiting patiently for my wedding day.

These Shoes in My Size Please
Dear Christian Louboutin Praia Espadrilles,
I am writing to you with my sincere apologies. You see, the truth is, I doubted your shoe family's relevance and never gave you a chance.
I thought that perhaps I would never find a pair of espadrilles that I actually liked and then you came along...You have changed everything,I believe in you now.
If you can find it in your heart to forgive me, I am a size 38 1/2 - my shoedrobe and I will be waiting for you patiently, with open hearts.
Much Love,
Edie x

How Do I Love Thee?
I really enjoyed this blogger's review of Tom Ford's private blend lip colour collection. My favourite part...
"2. You have the letters ‘TF’ stamped on the tip of the lipstick, which sort of makes me think of making out with Tom Ford as I apply it, which would be pretty awesome (c’mon, it would)."
I mean really, she's very right- who doesn't dream of kissing Tom Ford!

What A Nightmare..
Image via {This Is Glamorous}
Goodness did I have a crazy dream last night!
Whilst my dreams are not something I wouldn't normally share with you, in this instance I couldn't resist, for I think Lucia would be amused...
This nightmare centred around a wedding. My wedding. A wedding that I didn't know was happening until the morning of, where I discovered that Mum had organised the whole thing and that everyone else knew, but me. Horrifying.
I knew that I was engaged, so it was not like a surprise arranged wedding, but I also knew that I needed time before we actually married.
I'm sure any bride understands, how awful it would be to have to get ready for the biggest day of your life in two hours having had no say in any of the arrangements, dress, shoes, venue, flowers AND to top it all off I had to do my own hair and make up!!
Having set the scene for you, the part I distinctly remember most is watching the florists deliver the bouquets- which were awful- turning to Mum, tears streaming down my face and screaming: "this whole wedding is a disaster, the flowers are horrible. My god, what will Lucia think, she will be so disappointed in me!"
Lucia, of course I know you would never judge me, but I do know how you love your weddings and I'm not going to lie, I would want my wedding to be one of the ones that touches your heart x
