Yes, I Really Said That

(Images via Style.com)

Yesterday Lucia and I were on the hunt for a white Dolce & Gabbana dress and in the process I stumbled across this divine gown from their Sping 2008 RTW collection. A dress that in my opinion, could only be described as the most beautiful dress in the world.
For those of you who have never been to my desk at work, I have a tear-out from US Vogue of this exact same dress, but in the purple and yellow variation below.
Up until yesterday I had not seen it in red and black, but after doing so I have to say (and I did, much to the shock of Lucia) that to date, this is my most favourite dress, E V E R! It's a big call, I am aware, but seriosuly, I would give away my entire wardrobe if I could just have this dress to put in it.

Please note; shoud any one wish to call me on it at a later date, that the 'wardrobe' I refer to, does not include my shoes.

Sweet & Girly

(Image via Fashion Gone Rogue)

I adore this shot from the latest Mulberry campaign. The fun and girly vibe, is youthful and sweet, albeit a more grown up and sophisticated version of sweet.

It reminds me of the days when my girlfriends and I would all meet at someones house before a party to get ready together. Hair, make up, styling, pre-drinks - It was literally like the party before the party and I have to say, often the most enjoyable part of the night. What a shame that nights like these faded away with the onset of maturity.
Perhaps it's time to reintroduce the concept back into my life....

What I Love About Fashion

(Images via Noir Facade)

There are many things I love about fashion, but the thing that ignites the most passion in me is the fantasy.
The idea of clothes, shoes and accessories coming together to form an image or a style that seems out of this world and in some cases unattainable, is like a wonderfully addictive dream that sits just out of reach. The fact that there's many elements you might never be able to access make it all the more desirable, for there's nothing more attractive than something that's not quite yours.

Take these pictures for example, never in a million years would I A.) be able to afford these clothes or B.) even be able to pull them off. I understand that there's a lot going on there, what with the opulent brocade coats, plush fur and bold animal prints, but the point is: doesn't it make you want to live in a world where these kinds of fashions are the norm? Just for a second?
It's escapism, pure and simple, but I have to say, doesn't everyone need a little fantasy once in a while.

These Shoes in My Size Please

Today, if for no other reason than I've had an awful week and am in need of a little more love than usual, I bring you my second shoe post for the day.
Seriously though, to the rest of you who have had a bad week as well, do these phenomenal Christian Dior boots not make life seem a bazillion times more joyus now?

From Galliano's soon to be released Fall 2010 equestrian inspired collection, these thigh high, suede and leather stiletto boots are beyond. From the lace up backs to the buckles at the heels I adore every single inch of these shoes. If I had it my way, I would have a chocolate and caramel pair in both the thigh high and ankle variety.

And just for a little extra love on our Friday, here's a preview of the Fall 2010 Campaign featuring Karlie Kloss, shot by Steven Meisel.
