I'm obsessed; No really, it's a problem.... I. Must. Have. This. Hair. Colour.

I have been infatuated with the colour of Anna Selezneva's (left) hair for over a year now, but it's finally reached fever pitch. Such a calm, beautiful, dusky blonde, I feel like I'm at a time in my life where I don't need my hair to be so bright and striking, that perhaps I'm now confident enough in my own fabulousness that I can try a more peaceful, muted, albeit beautiful colour.

I am literally so in lust with this hair colour that I've taken to having recurring hair nightmares. By this I mean, dreams where in some way or another I'm trying to get my beautiful hairdresser Karlose to work his magic on this colour and for whatever reason, I can never quite get it done. You know, like those dreams where you're running to get somewhere, but no matter how fast you go you don't seem to be moving ahead. Aaaaagh, this so stressful - you do understand.

Anyway, all nocturnal horrors aside, lets take a moment to imagine my hair in this hair colour....

My appointment is in four weeks time, if we imagine this happening for me as a collective then surely it will happen. Right?

...no not casual wavy hair, but some of the best chocolate hair in Hollywood! Warm, glossy, long, with lovely flecks of lighter colour coming through it.

I've Had Enough...

...of hairdressers! There I said it. Why is it that even when you spend a lot of money on your hair, they still can't manage to get your hair right.  I went in today for the same colour that I had done on my last visit, yet somehow managed to come out with a much darker hair do. Not happy. Especially considering I am not asking for a radical colour. I'm talking about basic brown hair, much like Anne's in the pic above. AND while I'm on a rant, why is it that there are only older men as senior stylists or owners of the salon and then 21 year old's as apprentices in most salons? What happens to women hairdressers in the 20's and early 30's? Where do they disappear to?

Truthfully I Would

If I had hair this perfect; long, thick, voluminous- I swear I would wear it styled like this everyday.

Lucia doubts the reality of me actually doing this and whilst I admit that it''s a little over the top for everyday wear, I feel it would be a crying shame not to.

Of course, having said this - my imaginary alter ego is much more outrageous than I...so perhaps Lucia's half right: Edie wouldn't wear her hair like this everyday, but my ego most certainly would!

It Appears...

....that Lucia and I are suffering from a little bit (or a lot) of hair envy of late.

Whilst I know the grass is always greener, I can't help but wish that my hair was thick enough and long enough to be able to shake things up with my hair style like this.

Dree Hemingway's hair in this shoot for Vogue Nippon is fun and playful, but oh so sexy at the same time. I'm sure she's got extensions or a hair piece in for this, but it doesn't make the slightest bit of difference in helping to easy the envy.

Dear hair, please get better soon.

I Want To Be 16 Again...

...only so I can spend hours practicing and playing with my hair. It is VERY frustrating to be of a certain age and STILL not know how to blow dry one's hair. I think I have about 3 hair serum's in my cupboard and not a single texturing spray, although if I did have one I wouldn't even know what to do with it!

I went to a new hairdresser yesterday (oh god I hope my old one is not reading this....sorry!) and had one of the most pleasant hair appointments I've ever had.  I can feel my new hairdresser and I will be firm friends. I'm not game enough to post a photo of my fabulous hair(i know i know that's a bold statement but hey I'm still on a hairdresser high) but its kinda something like Zooey Deschanel's but with a little less fringe.

...I admit to not really paying that much attention to hairstyles that are styled using blonde hair.  Which is a dead giveaway that I'm a brunette. But this hair pic above is simple but stunning nonetheless.
