Random Tuesday Thoughts...

...I've had a lovely few weeks of hanging out with friends and their children, which has left me thinking (as I often can be found doing) about friends, parenthood, and children. And I've had the most fantastic revelation....my friends are amazing parents! But it's more than that, its that fact that each couple parent in different ways and their children have different personalities but the common denominator over all of that is how wonderful, awe inspiring, gracious and just damn cool they all are. I am amazed and awed at how they manage it all with such style and humour!

So I take my hat off to you all - heres to the Naish's, Bland's, Foley's, Baum's, Daley's and Gillis's xx

When Does It Get Better...

So I had a tough 20's and I seriously believed that once I got through them, life would be much easier because I would be more sure of who I was and I'd be more equipped to weather changes in my life.  So I'm struggling to understand why I am still in this place. It's not easy, in fact certain changes are much harder now and I feel more isolated than ever.  Sure my brain knows I'll get through this, knows my life is really blessed and I have some wonderful friends, but how do I get my heart to know these things as well?

Reflecting...

...so I'm in a bit of a 'funk', and thinking a lot about friends and family and the past. I know I know, not the healthiest mind set to be in, but none-the-less it's the train I'm on.  How do I get off?

Scary Times...

...do you ever have those moments in life where you feel really restless and off centre? What do you do to get through it? This time it feels a little scary.

Creativity...

...had a wonderful conversation about creativity with some work colleagues the other day and it got me thinking, can you learn to be creative or are you really just born with it? I know this is not exactly a new question, but an interesting one nonetheless.

Have A Fab Week My Lovelies...

..I hope the week brings you some happiness. To be honest I'm dreading it ever since my job changed but I'm going to try to build the bridge and get over it!

Natural Talent...

(Photos by Denis Leadbeater)

...I have spent countless hours in my life questioning how one gets to be good at certain things. Is it natural talent, or can you plug away and study for hours, practice and be just as good as those that seem to just 'get' things easily.  Honestly after all these years I am leaning more and more towards the idea that you really do have to have natural talent, to be gifted in some way, to be truly good at something.  These photos go a long way to proving this theory.

Truth Massacre...

(Truth art by alshepmcr via flickr)

As readers of this blog will know, Edie has a way with words.  But she out did herself last week when she coined the term 'Truth Massacre'.  If you really stop and think about it, it's bloody brilliant!  So I've taken this phrase on in the last couple of days and have executed some truth massacres of my own.   Boy is it liberating. But I do warn  you, it can be a little scary, because as we all know, sometimes the truth can highlight some painful things...

Being An Adult Is...

...Interesting. Confusing. Frustrating. Fun. Hard.  It hit me today that there are so many things that I want to  do but the reality is if I choose to do one thing, that will cut out the ability to do a lot more.
Will I ever be able to buy a house, go on a beach holiday to an exotic location, show G where my parents are from, do a flower arranging course, study, buy art...
