This Bag, My Closet

(Image via Net-A-Porter)

I'm so very much in lust with this mini Leopard print Lanvin bag from Net-A-Porter.
My clothes are generally pretty conservative and though I hate to admit, black.....lots of black! A lot of that is probably a fear of colour and insecurities surrounding my perceived lack of ability to pull off a more outrageous look.
However. When it comes to shoes and bags, animal prints and bold colour are wonderful and more than make up for my lack of adventure with clothing- it's my way of compromise. To me, shoes and bags are the centre of an outfit - the bolder the better.

So imagine this, a sleek slimline pair of black pants, a floaty black silk blouse, the highest of high Pigalle patent Louboutins, layered gold necklaces and this superb Lanvin bag slung gracefully over my shoulder.
For now I'm sure you can see how the bag can make the outfit.

This Bag, My Closet

(Image via Bryan Boy)

Every now and then I stumble across a bag that makes me pine for a different life. One in which I can afford every thing my heart desires. A life full of beautiful things. Sometimes I love something so much, that for just a few seconds I think it might even make me genuinely happy.

This sequinned Miu Miu bag is one of them.

2010: The Year Of The Chanel

(Image via The Purse Blog)

Inspired by a glass or two of Veuve this past New Years Eve, I made myself a handful of new years resolutions. Amongst the usual (and predictable) eat healthier, exercise more, be a little kinder to myself etc. I thought it would be fun to make a materialistic resolution...something I suspected I would be more inclined to keep. Thus my arrival at the decision that 2010 would be the year of the Chanel for me.

Having grandly stated at 19 that when I grew up I would only wear Chanel, I figured it was high time that I at least owned a Chanel bag. I mean, if I'm to only wear Chanel, I really must start somewhere.

Whilst a wardrobe filled entirely with Chanel is a little while away, a bag is not. So with our 5 followers as my witness and the lovely Lucia to keep me focused, it's official: 2010 is the year of the Chanel.

So, I've Changed My Mind

(Image via Coco Birkin)

Whilst I thought that I loved the Black Croc Birkin in my previous post, I love, love, L.O.V.E the colour of this deep Cherry Red Croc Birkin.

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to have two....right?

Bringing Home The Birkin

(Image via The Purse Blog)

Whilst reading Michael Tonello's Bringing Home The Birkin (a fascinating read and absolute must for anyone who loves fashion, Hermes, Travel, Bags, Spain...you get my point), I was reminded of my all time holy grail bag: the Hermes Birkin.

Whilst I know that it's a more mature style, with a more mature price point ($148,000 for this diamond encrusted Croc Porosus Lisse), I can't help but dream that one day when I'm all grown up, I will own this bag.

Well...maybe not the diamond encrusted design, just the 35cm in black Croc will do.

The Unspoken Hero

(Image via Net-A-Porter)

A I was browsing through my most favouritest online boutique, Net-A-Porter, I stumbled across this absolutely amazing YSL Muse tote in a cream cracked leather finish. Quite simply, I want one!!

I had the opportunity to buy a YSL Muse back in 2007 on a trip to New York. Battling through an internal debate over the Dior Gaucho or YSL Muse, I opted to buy the Gaucho. Whilst I have never regretted the decision, (J'Adore my Dior), I will forever have a soft spot for the Muse.

Then I got to thinking, my blog posts tend to revolve predominantly around my love of shoes...but if I'm to be honest, my love of bags is on an equal level.  So why have I neglected to post on them until now? It's hard to say... but one things for certain, all that's about to change.
